I’m writing because I think our sites could work together to serve our shared military audience. We’ve noticed that there is a dire need for easy to understand information on the new GI Bill. Many soldiers still have questions about their benefits despite the new bill being in place for the past two months. To respond to this need, we developed a downloadable “Cheat Sheet” that is filled with useful facts and gives a quick rundown of the details of the new GI Bill.

In hopes of helping soldiers and their families understand their benefits (and admittedly, get the word out about GIBill.com), we have created some resources that you may find useful. All of our sources are from military websites. Our goal was to create an easier read.

Veterans in some parts of the country are running into problems purchasing foreclosed properties with their VA loans. The agency's strict appraisal process combined with a crush of commercial buyers swooping in to buy properties with cash has forced some veterans in California and elsewhere to prolong their home search.

Despite a few pockets of problems, VA loans remain one of the most flexible and low-cost options on the market for veterans and their families. VA loans are among the last avenues in the country to purchase a home with no money down. It is important for veterans to establish contact with a VA loan expert to learn their VA loans guidelines.

Qualified borrowers also save money on a host of other upfront costs that usually put a dent in homebuyers' wallets, including private monthly mortgage insurance. You don't have to worry about PMI when you don't have a down payment. Other major benefits include:

# Negotiable interest rate.

# Ability to finance the VA funding fee

# Closing costs are comparable with other financing types (and may be lower).

# An assumable mortgage.

# Right to prepay without penalty.

The VA do have specific VA criteria regarding the type and overall condition of homes that can be purchased with a VA loan. That's why some borrowers in hard-hit parts of the country have struggled to buy foreclosed properties - many simply don't meet the VA's criteria.

But the agency doesn't have strict criteria regarding a veteran's credit, income or other financial health. There are some basics, but even veterans who have experienced bankruptcy or foreclosure can still qualify for a VA loan.

VA loans can't be used for investment or rental properties, so veterans and their families must live in the homes they purchase. The VA also guarantees loans up to a specific amount - in most parts of the country the loan limit is $417,000. But that level has been increased to help veterans in some of the nation's more expensive regions.

Veterans interested in purchasing a foreclosed property need to understand the potential problems - find a VA loan expert who can help answer your questions, prepare you for the process, and present you with VA loan rates today. These high-impact loans have helped more than 18 million veterans become homeowners since World War II.

They're just as important six decades later.

In the NH Primary, I voted for John McCain. What got me is when he said "I'm older than dirt and have more scars than Frankenstein." I certainly do not want a Democrat in the White House and the idea of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton being there makes me sick to my stomach. Barack does not have the experience needed and I sure as shit do not want the Clintons living back in the White House.

Romney is an ass. Watching all the debates, each person is asked a question and has so much time to answer it. Without fail during each one, Mitt Romney interrupts and argues with whomever is talking while everyone else waits their turn. He's arrogant and he thinks he's the answer to mankind - like a "god" which is far from the truth. Mike Huckabee, as personal as he makes himself out to be, wants to overturn Roe vs Wade, which is already law and I believe in pro-choice and instead of IRS, he wants to make everything we buy 23% in sales tax which will kill all of us especially those of us who are poor making it difficult to buy anything. So as far as I'm concerned he's out of the running. The most experienced candidate for President but probably the most unknown was Bill Richardson but he has pulled out of the race.

The Democrats have not done anything in the year they've been in Congress except to change the menu in their cafeteria and have fought against funding for our troops overseas. We cannot leave them over there without funding. They need to be paid, they need the money to improve what they have over there to protect themselves and we cannot pull out in a year or less. If we did something like that, the country would fall apart and Iran plus Al Queda would take over immediately and that part of the world would become unstable and dangerous for everyone concerned including the United States.

President Bush was over in the mideast for the last nine days; the only thing I did not approve of is his sale of 20B in sales of arms to Saudi Arabia and I hope it does not happen. I do believe that Israel is a bully and needs to pull back and let the Palestinians have their own state and I wish Hamas would realize that they are the roadblock to peace.

This is my dream and my request: I want to come home to Woburn, MA. I am chronically ill and disabled and need help on occasion. I have asked Woburn Housing Authority for an appltication for low-income housing but after a year, they still have not sent me an application. If anyone knows what I can do to get back to Woburn and spend the rest of my life there with or without someone special but at least with a roommate and my own bathroom, I sure would appreciate it. I miss my friends and family and I just plain miss having anyone to talk to and chat with. If you can help, I'd be forever grateful.

TIGER WOODS WINS THE WACHOVIA CHAMPIONSHIP

Last weekend, Tiger Woods, won the Wachovia championship. It was a difficult 4 days and a tough weekend but he pulled it off by 2 points over the entire field. It was great!!!

I used to think that golf was boring until I got into it, the skill and athleticism of the players, how hard they work and what scores they finally end up with. Even Tiger was pleased and happy at his win. It was supberb.

I'M TRY TO QUIT SMOKING

After 42 years of smoking, I'm trying to quit. I finally called the doctor to see if there was anything I could do with the withdrawal symptoms and he prescribed this new drug that cost $120. So far the medicine hasn't made much of a difference. I eat Commit lozenges and have a cigarette occasionally and have cut down to ten cigarettes a day but it has not been easy. I've bought hard candy, gum and lollipops for they say to keep something in your mouth at all times but it looks like I get up during the night, sleep walk, sleep eat, sleep smoke and don't remember it at all. I have sleep apnea and it's affecting my memory big time.

If anyone has any idea what else could be helpful, please let me know. Thank you.

VIRGINIA TECH SHOOTINGS

I have not written a word regarding the Virginia Tech shootings. First off, it's been overcovered by the media 24/7 for a week and more so I felt there was no reason for me to cover it.

What I do know is that it's brought out all the crazies is this country since with shootings all over the place. No one can tell me that a kid like Cho didn't show signs of what was to come; I am sure there were lots of signs and people were just not paying attention and for the media to give him so much attention was disgusting. My anger made me not even commit a comment.

I don't have llamas anymore; in place of animals I could no longer handle, I traded them in for a motorized wheelchair. We had to give them away and hopefully they all went to good homes; haven't heard otherwise.

so my property is up for sale and I need to find a place to live that I can afford on Social Security Disability and Medicare.

Hope everyone else is doing better than I am. Big Noreaster coming. Last one I remember was the blizzard of 1978 - boy was that some story.

ZACK JOHNSON WINS THE MASTERS

Zack Johnson wins the MASTERS!! Tiger Woods ties for 2nd place with two others. It was a difficult course for everyone that two cuts were made. Zack won it with one over par. The entire tournament was amazing; no one was doing well but this steely kid did better than all of them. It's pretty bad to be a pro and get a 25 over par on the leader board, so I hope they fix the course for next year in Atlanta.

But congrats go to Zack for sticking with it.

I love golf and watched every second of it on TV; I would have loved to have been in Ireland, just outside of Dublin, for the whole thing and of course spending time there on vacation if I had known about it long beforehand. I also saw the guy rip off his clothes and run around in the buff!! :-)

It really was exciting to watch the players but I have to say that Tom Lehan did a lousy job of pairing up people; I would have done better as a coach! Europe won 18 1/2 to 9 1/2 and worth every second. I'm in love with Darren Clarke and would give anything to meet him!

A woman kills her friend and cuts out her baby with scissors. Egads and they've been looking for her other 3 children. It seems she drowned the other three children, then threw them in the dryer. I HATE ISRAEL: THEY'RE BULLIES!!!!!!!!

Let me explain my reasoning. Israel has an army, tanks, gunships, other tyes of helicopters, ships and much more unlike anyone else in their area of the world. From day 1, if something happened, they would go into the West Bank and Gaza and just destroy it. Not only are they doing that now what they did to Lebenon was uncalled for and they went too damn far. They blew up the airport right after some journalists arrived, they blew up builings, uncaring of whom was in it; they blewup roads and bridgers and the Lebenon people suffered because of what Israel did. They are a mightily military and they use it for any excuse. It is unfair of them to use such actions against the people of another country whom cannot take care of themselves.

At one point, the PM of Lebenon said that Israel should pay for the damage they caused, the clean up and the rebuiling: I totally agree. To me, Israel went too far.

THE BOSTON MARATHON

No, I didn't watch it today; not even sure if it was covered. BUT back in 1991, my oldest son and several friends decided to go because one of them named Scott decided he wanted to run in the marathon. So they drove to Hopkington, MA, dropped Scott off and they stayed there until he ran by. Then they drove to Boston,had to park in a parking garage and spread themselves out along the finish line. My son at on a mailbox.

Anyway, the gruesome marathon was finished by Scott in three and a half hours, including a half hour rest once he got over the big hill. If he hadn't stopped, he would have done it in three hours and 15 minutes. I found his timing was phenomenal! And it was not that much different from the winner. It was damn good for a first try and his only try.

Because my son was out of school, they called me and I told them that Scott was running the Marathon and the names of the kids who went with my son and Scott. The following day the school made a big deal over Scott's achievement.

When he crossed the finish line, all the boys were at his side in seconds. They literally had to carry him blocks to the car; he was in agony. By the time they reached the house, he was really in pain, so I ran a tub, put special stuff in the water to help him relax, added my whirlpool addition, gave him a couple flexeril and a wine cooler to get him feeling better.

Now his parents lived across the street for me. Not once did they call; they didn't even bother coming over and congratulations. What asses. He ended up sleeping where he spent most of the time - on my couch.

When I got up the next morning, I fully expected him to still be on the couch but he went to school. How he could possibly walk is beyond me. Over the loudspeakers during the marathon, the rest of the students knew what he had done and when he went to school, they make a big deal over it because it was kind of a special thing he did.

It was phenomenal! And I'll never forget it; too bad his parents didn't give a damn. I was excited for him and proud of him for doing the marathon in a fairly record time. It's not like he prepared for this; he just did it and his timing was excellent. Very exciting.

Hey Folks,

Will be going into Maine Medical Center within a few weeks to have a hysterectomy (no real big deal) and a full and complete colostomy (very big deal). It will be agonizing for awhile but once healed should improve my health, some of my pain and improve the quality of my life.

Once done, I can get back to work here. Wish me luck!

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry I have not kept up with this blog. It's not that I've lost interest - quite the opposite. I watch the news; I keep up with what is going on in the world and probably could discuss any subject with you.

My problem is that I am very sick and have been for some time. I'm hoping to get past that and back to work here soon.

I could use some help if anyone, including military personnel, would like to use this blog to keep it running and up-to-date until I can get on my feet. Life has been hitting me hard lately and all I can do is pray it gets better.

LOST LOVES

I have loved two men in my entire life; neither were my husbands. My first husband died as a result of brain death in 1978. At the time, I had a five year old son that I had to bring in to see his father to say goodbye and that was the most difficult thing to do. When I came in the room with my son, my husband sat straight up in bed and it took 6 nurses to hold him down. He had brain stem death so I have no idea if other parts of his brain were still firing and he knew we were there.

But I digress. After my husband passed on, I met a man the following year that I was absolutely crazy about and who was crazy in love with me. But it scared him so he put me through hell and in our third year, he cheated on me and I didn't know it for quite some time. He finally told me and I remember that when he left, I was leaning against the wall and I just slid down the wall in such grief and pain and stayed that way for quite a long time. Shit, I thought we were going to get married and I'd be the mother of his two kids who adored me. They hated his father for what he did to me and cried when they left my house. Me, on the other hand, was in shock. I could not believe someone I loved so dearly and was so close to, could possibly walk away from me. I loved those kids as much as I loved my own. It was just horrible. Occasionally, I keep in touch with them; they are all grown up now, married with their own families and children. Last year, I even saw HIM and we sat around a fire chatting and had a good time and I found that it actually hurt me to see him and that I'd even be "the other woman" if he so desired. I guess I was really never over him and that was 25 years ago.

But mostly, the person who swept me off my feet and whom I loved beyond comprehension and he felt the same. Every night I'd write a note or a mini-novel and stuck it in his car for his reading pleasure the following day. I couldn't miss a night because he looked forward to them; they made his day and it was our way of learning about one another and working things out. But it sure was a wonderful relationship that I still miss sorely. We never fought and all he wanted, especially on weekends, was to spend time with me. When I was sick, he didn't want me in bed, so he'd set me up on the couch, just so he could be near me - asleep or awake. For the first time in his life, he learned what love was and it was amazing, absolutely amazing. I'm thankful for the time we had together and still damn wish he was with us.

He had blood clots in his legs with filters at the top of each leg and one in his abdomen just in case a clot got through. Finally, instead of ignoring it, he decided to go have surgery on his legs because he wanted to live a long life with me. So we went to see his doctor, who put him on aspirin (what a stupid thing to do) and did a stress test on his legs. I went everyway with him and I was the calming force, the comforting force whenever he had to have tests or for whatever reason. Our love transcended everything; it was magical.

And it will never happen to me in my life again. This I know. Between the aspirin - and I don't believe in blood thinners because they broke up his clots and pieces of clots were getting through his protective screen. One day he had a hard time breathing so brought the truck back to work, got in his car and headed for Winchester Hospital in MA. He made my friend David drive me down so I could use his car because he wanted me to be safe. I noticed things were wrong and I tried finding his doctors and since I complained about one of the pills he was taking, he stopped taking them altogether. The thing I was not aware of and would have have a flipping fit over was he did not have just an IV of fluids but of IV HEPERIN. Big mistake for heparin was breaking down the clots and they were going through his lungs, into his heart and into his brain, so he had a few TIA's. I noticed his speech was off, he walked the hall like a drunk and when I brought him home, he seemed to get better.

He came home on Saturday, had that breathing attack again which was caused by a clot in his lungs. When they released him, they told him they did find something but it wasn't anything to worry about. He did well on Sunday and Monday which was the evening he asked me to marry him. I figured that was a given since we were living together and had asked the doctors for two weeks off so he could close his apartment for good. We went to bed Monday night after an extremely passionate love-making and fell asleep in each other's arms.

About 4:30 an, he got up to go to the bathroom. I had a bathroom attached to my bedroom, so it was like two steps from his side of the bed. He goes into the bathroom, shuts the door, turns on the light in one swift movement, then I heard the bang of him falling. I ran around the bed and was in there in seconds. He was dead. Dear God, I howled as I grabbed a robe, turned on lights, opened the front door, grabbing the phone and dialed 911. That took about five seconds and it was only a short 2 minutes before the ambulance arrived.

In the meantime, I rolled him over onto his back and started CPR but all I was getting was blood. That howling noise stayed with me - sounded like a wounded animal. The EMT' arrived and they were big but my bathroom couldn't fit us all. After setting stuff up, they picked him up and brought him out to the kitchen to work on him. I knew they couldn't get an airway and in came the orange bucket where they put him and the equipment they had on him and out the door they went, telling the cop to bring me up the hospital. I tried getting over my doggie fence and fell, knocking over all kinds of glass cutting my knee to shreds for I wanted to get dressed before they left.One of the EMT'S yelled at the cop saying he was supposed to watch me and was I allright? So as soon as they left the house, I ran back into my room, got dressed faster than lightening and was out the door with the cop.

When I reached the ER, the ambulance was gone because they could not face me and there had to be 50 people in that OR but once the doctor saw it was me, he waved me through. I rattled off what had happened over the past week and they asked "why didn't they keep him?" What happened was the blood clots built up in the pulmonary artery till it burst. I stood there awhile and I know they were going through the paces, so I asked them to stop and leave him in peace.

In the meantime they wanted to cut my jeans to get at my knee, so I asked them please to clean him up and I went into another room where they stiched up my knee in a few places and had to have a tetanus shot. I pulled up my pants and walked back to the room he was in and the place was spotless and he was lying on a bed wrapped up like a mummy, peaceful, his face looking 20 years younger and radiant.

I had already called his brother, then went back to stay with him. I kissed him on the forehead and as I was about to kiss him on the lips, the doctor poked his head in to tell me to be careful but I already knew that. While I was being stitched up, I had called my friend, David and he was on his way up to the hospital. They found a minister to keep me company, so we went outside, had a cigarette. I asked why HE did this to me and saw David pull in. Together we walked back to the room and when he came in and saw my fiancee' he was taken aback, came over to me, kneeling down beside me visibly shaken telling me how sorry he was and more. It's shocking to see a person like that.

About 6 am, the doctor poked his head in and said to say my goodbyes because they had to move him before the hospital woke up. The people that worked there were making busy work so they didn't have to look at me. He was only 46 years old but still in shock. When he brought me home, I walked my neighborhood in my socks and David went to clean up the blood. His brother showed up to take his stuff and his car that I was using and surely wanted me to have but I gave him the keys and nothing else.

The ultimate, unconditional love of my life was dead. But I knew where he was...........

MAINE NEWS I HEARD TODAY.

After taking out a movie today, the Maine news comes on NECN, they had several pieces on three different individuals, I had to watch, it got so much of my attention.

There was an American Iraqi war veteran who lost all his troops in an IED but he also got hurt but except for a sprained ankle, isn't even allowed a job at the post office. Here is a kid who went to Iraq, is in perfect shape, runs daily and the post office won't give him a job. No reason except previous injury that does not bother him but they will not hire him. He defended our country but he's not good enough to be a mail carrier?? Unbelieve.

The second Iraq veteran hung himself. The family tried desperately to get him help from the VA but they didn't receive a letter from the VA until three weeks later. He was heavily drinking and the family was really concerned. They spend time at camps for children with deadly illness and one day the father went home and found his son had hung himself with a hose down the cellar. He said the look on his son't face showed he was at peace. (I've seen that look myself.) He got his son down, called the police, then returned to the cellar to keep his son company. He was 23 years old.

The third was killed in Iraq and his funeral is tomorrow and a group against the war plans on being at his funeral. This is abominable and they have no place at a funeral for a soldier who died in Iraq and the family does not need this. All I can say is they better not show up and leave the family in peace so they can bury their loved one in peace and quiet. Demonstrators against the war have no place in this rememberence.

SORRY I'VE BEEN OUT IN PARADISE

Sorry I've been out in Paradise...:-). Only kidding, I've been out of commission. This is a terrible time for me and I do not function well in the cold and man, it has been cold. We had zero degree weather, major snowstorms, temperature and baromometric changes from day to night, our pipes froze and then when we finally got water back by unfreezing the pump the toilet took extra days before those pipes unfroze. Then we lost the heater and had to have that fixed. It's just been one thing after another.

But the worst part is all the losses I've had have had something to do with these months and I get very depressed. My mother died in September of 97 but her birthday is in late December. My brother took his life on early March 18th after a long day of partying on St Patrick's Day of 1982 and his birthday was February 2nd. My fiancee died in September a year after my mother but his birthday was late January and my father died a year ago on Valentines Day. This all culminates into major pain that matches my physical pain and all I do is cry. I forget sometimes then I realize what makes my heart ache. I'm very emotional and I'll be watching TV and a particular scene will be played out and I find tears pouring down my face.

This year, the last weekend of January, my oldest son, age 33, went and got married in Florida without so much as me knowing about it and I wonder what I ever deserved such treatment. My sisters and a brother, few cousins flew down. It was the sister that didn't go who called me on his wedding day to tell me. My younger son, age 22, wasn't included either. And that hurts.

My roommate and my son were laid off in October and neither has a job and no income and the phone calls are endless that I'm ready to change the phone number, I can't take it anymore. My mealsy disability income is what we've been living off of; it looks like I'm going to have to give up food for Lent.

I've been to doctors galore, had tests galore and the fear I have of choking to death -- the same fear my mother had when she had lung cancer -- seems the end I'm going to be stuck with and I would rather end my life on my terms, not my disease's terms. I'm losing control of what happens to my body and I do not want to live that way. I still have accidents like the other night when I crashed to the floor, knocking over my chair, stool, with ice cream in my hands, loudly, shaking the whole house and not remembering a thing but waking up in the morning wondering why one side of my head hurts. The other accidents I don't want to discuss for it digusts me to no end.

All these things and more are just piling up on me and I know I'm going to lose everything I worked so hard for all these years. It gets to me and there's nothing I can do about it. I live in a desolate road, so I'm very lonely and I was never meant to be lonely - too much of an extrovert. Except for my roommate, I'm very much alone, so he's no help. And we have llamas that have just got to go because he too is disabled to the point, he can barely take care of them either. The most he can do is feed them at night and have hay bales out there for them to eat day and night.

I will tell you all the stories but be aware I'm still a newshound and I know everything that's going on world wide. It was easier before when I would find information for other bloggers and send it to them but when it comes to mine, it's barely newsworthy and definitely more personal.

I need a hand wheelchair with pneumatic tires if anyone knows of an unused one.

I'm just very very tired of the whole thing.

The Olympic Scoring has changed this year into points like 99.00 supposedly to be more fair but I think they forget to tell Denmark. When Sasha Koen was skating tonight, depite several falls in the beginning, she did a fantastic job with the rest of her program. Gosh, she's good. No one can match her. While waiting for the scoring from the jugded. She got numbers like 98.60, 97.00 from rhat list of judges and a 1.0 from Denmark. A 1.0? what the hell is that? I see marks like that again, I'm going to complain to the Olympic Board and if I see that this judge gives normal reccords to everyone else expept people lke Sasha Cohen, I'm still going to report that unfair behavior to the Olympic too - because Denmarkis is totally wrong and unfaiar

I'M TRYING TO QUIT SMOKING

Yes, I am trying to quit smoking after 40 years and man, it's not easy but I intend to do it one way or another. For those who have made it after so many years, any ideas to help? Sure could use it.

I'm on oxygen at night but I don't sleep well. It's when I finally shut off the damn machine, I can sleep all day if I wanted to. For those who are chronically ill and disabled, quit, no matter how hard it is. I'm on the oxygen because I have restricted breathing from the fibromyalgia crushing my chest. My biggest fear is choking to death and it seems the pulmonologist knows that is exactly what is going to happen. Also had minor heart attack tonight, too. I'd say it's been a bad day all around - it still hurts.

BANK ROBBERY IN THE UK

Over the weekend, an unprecented bank robbery took place in the UK where the robbers first kidnapped the bank manager and in police uniforms, kidnapped his family and stole an equivalent of $43M of US dollars in pounds and took off in a dark van when they were done. There are no leads to these people or any arrests..........

Kinda reminds me of the new movie out with Harrison Ford called "Firewall."

UPDATE: Amount stolen has finally been figured out to be $84 Million dollars. They have two people in custody. There is a reward of 3.4 million for the money.

SACRED HOLY MOSQUE BOMBED IN IRAQ

When even Al-Sadr was held up at the most sacred mosque in Iraq, even we (the military) could not touch this particular mosque BUT it was blown up by insurgents over the weekend. This has caused the Sunni's to attack Shiites mosques throughout the country. Insurgents blew up the mosque but the Sunni's are taking it out on the Shiites, which makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why are the Sunni's destroying 27 Shiite mosques, killing 19 clerics when it was insurgents that blew up the holy mosque? Why aren't they going after the insurgents instead? And put an end to the insurgency?? That's whom to blame, not the Shiites, so why aren't the Sunni's as well as the Shiites going after the insurgents? After all. it was not the Shiites who did the bombing of the holy mosque. Why can't the Sunni's put their anger towards the people who blew up their holy shrine? If both groups went after the insurgents and Zarqawi, they could stop the insurgents in their tracks and not destroy each other's property. Now that makes more sense to me than what is happening in Iraq right now and avoiding a civil war. I mean they know who did it and it was not the Shiites, so why blame the Shiites? Don't the Sunni's know they are being played by the insurgency and not sectarianism? That what is being done is to cause a civil war between the two facftions when the two factions should come together and put an end to the insurgency and Al Quada? Gosh, too bad they could not think straight and realize the truth and do something about it, not letting their religious differences get in the way; that they are being played? The US has offered to help rebuild the holy shrine with the golden dome. What are they doing over there?

If they are going to go into civil war, right or wrong, I'd say that get our guys out of there asap!! Because no matter what we do, it's not going to change what's happening between the Sunni's and the Shiites. If they go into civil war, there is no sense for our troops to be there.

Over 111 people have been killed since yesterday; the Ammans are trying to calm the people. It's not Shiites vs Sunni's but that's how it is ending up. A curfew has been set to try to quell the violence. If that many people can get out there to protest, why don't they go after the insurgents and Al Quada, Zarqawi instead of their own people? 90 odd Sunni mosques have been destroyed, 111 people killed. Why fight one another when it's Al Quada who bombed the Golden Dome?

NASCAR IS BACK!!! HO-AH!! Love it! Missed it. Junior has been running in both series - Busch and Nextel and then at the very end, somehow he doesn't even end up in the top ten. And both races over the weekend had incredible crashes including right at the very end of even the Daytona 500 which Jimmy Johnson won.

My dream: to be at the Daytona 500, meet all the drivers, even those who got cut and see it close up. Although the best seats in the house are in my bed or rocking chair or on the couch where you see everything, including replays. Maybe someday...

MY SON NEEDS A JOB!!!!!

Son #2 needs a job and can't find one. He filled out forms for unemployment where he'd get over $200 and up to $5500 totally - initially. He's my major stress factor and the money would pay for fixing his truck, get it inspected, pay rent somewhere (we've given him enough money already for having no income but my own disability) and he does nothing about it - like pick up a check every week. How hard can that be?
And I ask that he not cuss in the house for every other word out of his mouth is F**k which I hate. We even went fists to cuffs.
Plus how hard is it to fold blankets and put them in the closet during the day and take them out at night? Although my house is a pig pen, I still like it neat if possible, but he just piles everything here and there and it takes maybe five minutes to fold the bedding and put it in the closet. We had a huge fight the other day and because of his mouth and attitude, I wanted to slap him silly but couldn't - he's a lot stronger than me. So alas, he has no place to lay his head and it's been really cold here in NH. He may be 22 years old but acts like a 12 year old and has no memory of his first 15 years with me before he was kidnapped by his father. He doesn't see it that way but that's when the drugs and alcohol came into play. He's loud, fights and argues constantly, thinks he knows it all, sticks a knife in my heart and twists it. Everyone else likes him but has he ever heard "charity begins at home." I treat everyone the same, no matter who they are or where I am and I know I don't deserve this kind of abuse.
When he's here, all he does is sleep on the couch, sits at the computer or is on the phone, argues and fights with me constantly. He never helps, never does a damn thing but expects everything.
Now it seems if he can't find a place to sleep at any of his friends, he's probably sleeping in his car.
It's been colder here than the weathermen say. We've hit 2 degrees, 6 degrees, 7 degrees and tonight, it's about 14 degrees. I didn't throw him out, he walked out because he couldn't stand arguing with me any longer.
I worry but is it bad enough to say "come on back?"
I'm a great mother but even this mother has limits. I can't really explain it.....but am I wrong? There's more but you can't hold his hand forever. At his age, I had a 2 year old son, worked every day, paid daycare and went to school nights. What is wrong with our kids today?

THE UAE TAKING OVER PORTS ON THE EAST COAST

I know there's been mass news lately, so much so that it's hard to keep up. But there is one situation we should have known about before this - a company from the United Arab Emerites is going to take care of ports on the east coast and Louisiana. The President sees nothing wrong in this; the longshoremen will still work there, the Coast Guard will still patrol the ports but......and I mean BUT the UAE is going to control the ports. For some reason this makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Come on, we are fighting terrorists worldwide, aka Iraq, Afghanistan, and we're going to allow an Arab nation control our ports??? Do you have any idea how easy it would be for a terrorist to infiltrate such a company and attack us from within? Sure, Bush says the company checks out but why can't an American company handle the job? And even if the company checks out and works in different areas around the world, including places that have been hit by terrorists, isn't this like inviting them to dinner? I'm sorry, but I do not agree with the President on this issue; it gives me a bad feeling all over. After all, we ARE at war! Why take such a chance? I don't like it; I fear it's a huge mistake and we're somehow going to pay dearly for it sometime in the future. The whole idea makes me nervous and I hope the deal does not go through but as of March 2nd, UAE has the job of handling our ports on the Eastern coast. There's got to be a way to stop this before it starts.

The President has extended the time before the EU takes over the ports - seems he really didn't know about it till the media got ahold of the story. So there will be time for an investigation.

Why was Britian operating our ports to begin with? AMERICAN companies should be operating our ports, no foreign company!

THIS IS HOW I START MY DAY...CONTINUED

When I can finally stand up, I'm holding onto my bureau and my bed for balance, going slowly, half bent, stand there and wait. Good thing there's no fire or I'd die. I want a new body. I pray to Pope John Paul the Second who needs miracles to become a saint - maybe you can do the same. I can't sit in my rocker for long or any other chair because it presses on my right butt trigger point, invading my sciatica and I just can't get comfortable anywhere. Finally I take taby steps. I can't use my motorized chair in the house becase the house is too small but sure could use a slimline regular chair with phenumatic tires that definitely would help. Don't think Medicare would cover it,tho. But I sure could function better.

I slide down the hall holding both sides with my hands, hold onto chairs and by the time I get to my living room, I need to sit. I would love to be active and healthy and feel worthwhile but that is tough. Even keeping my sense of humor sometimes is a challenge but it's still there. I love comedy and I try to be optimistic but somedays, that is hard to do. I laugh a lot, I talk a lot and have so much knowledge I'd like to pass on but somehow the words just aren't coming through.

I believe it may have a lot to do with my lack of oxygen at night. My usual garb is pajamas. Not long ago I had what you might call a "charlie horse" in my right leg and I tore something from my foot to my low calf. The colder the weather, the more I hurt and it's damn cold out and I guess it's going to be that way for awhile. Not looking forward to much more of this.

Basically I spend my days sitting and by nightfall,,, the pain sets back in. I rock when I hurt and I bounce my legs as a result of the pain which drives my housemate nuts. too bad.

And sometimes I cry.

THIS IS HOW I START MY DAY....

Most times, I swing my legs over the edge of my bed and I sit there. I stare at my messy bureau and my neverending prescriptions. There's always a cup of water from last night, so I reach over, take two Lortab, a Soma, Indocin and usually a xanax and I take them. Then as I'm rocking in pain, I wait for the meds to kick in so I either get up or like this morning at 4 AM, I wait for it to kick in so I can get comfortable in the real morning only to do it over when I really wake up at a decent hour.

It's only just enough to take the edge off my pain level. Then I try to fumble my way to the bathroom. I check my electric blanket to make sure it is on. It's the kind of blanket that shuts off after 10 hours but I have not been in the bed for 10 hours.

While waiting, I'll have a cigarette or two and when I can, I'll roll back under the covers. Nine out of ten times I will not fall back to sleep. So I turn on the news, try to lie back down in my convertible bed that's been no help at all. I just hurt all over but especially in my legs, my back and in my chest where the "fibroids" of my body are strangling me making it hard to breathe and to eat. My chest does not exand anymore. More than likely, I'll be on oxygen by the weekend or early next week. I should have been put on it last October when I did my first oxygen saturation test which showed I was only getting 79 percent oxygen while sleeping. Last time, even moving around, being up and about, I was hitting the 95 percent level while this time, I was only getting 90 percent. I can't imagine how bad my sleep saturation was but I'll learn that this week.

Back before Christmas Jody asked me some questions and Rod answered for her saying that I'll probably celebrate Christmas as other people do. I know he was trying to protect me and I appreciate it. There are only a few people who know whom I really am since my nick here is totally anonymous: I was getting hate email while being just a poster. 'So will try to find that response from Jody and try to answer her questions.

It's been about 1/2 hour and I'm getting some movement ability, so I'm going to try to go to sleep again if I can and sleep is rare for me. I have good days and bad days and dead days but all days are full of pain and the inability to really do anything, making me feel even more worthless. Today should be a decent day but sometimes the pain is so excrutiating that all I can do is just cry. That was yesterday. Sobbed like a broken person (hence the nick name) with a broken heart who can barely take care of myself and those days are my crying days and the name in the show "Just Shoot Me" comes into play.

Yesterday, I fought for help with my prescriptions through Medicaid to pick up what Part D allows and I won out. What a horrendous program but I'll get that in another post for those of you who have been on disability and Medicare A and B, so you can get help with your prescription, too. There is a way around it especially for those who have meds that are not covered by Part D. Don't give up; there is help.

Just tried to stand up and sprained my left ankle. Could have broken it, too, but won't know that till later and when the throbbing stops.

Anybody feel like switching places? Didn't think so. :-)

My roommate got me a good one tonight: OK, it was a beautiful, sunny day, so three old ladies, Ellie, Nellie and Ester went to the park. They were sitting ona park bench when they were approached by a flasher. He walked over to them and stood first in front of Ellie, flashed her and she immediately had a stroke. He then moved over to Nellie and she had a stroke, too. The flasher moved over in front of Ester, being the oldest and frailist of the three women and she just couldn't reach that far.

DOING THE BONFIRE.....AND OTHER STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW

Doing the Bonfire was a challenge for me. Even my arms still hurt. :-) There was SOOOOOOOOO much news going on that day and I tried to keep notes and remember things I was watching while doing it. There were a lot of entries. I have tried to fix any errors but if something is wrong, put it in the comments section so others can see it. My main problem was I could not remember where the entry URL went but mostly where the trackback url went and I tried to add both. I do not do html - don't know it and things sure have changed since I originally had a site about 20 years ago. It was easy then. I will tell you this, if you are hosting the bonfires, et al, you will get a lot of spam mail. Since I have GMAIL, it filtered out over 30 pieces of spam mail each hour.

The next day, I had to go into the hospital for some tests and some work. Last night I had to do another oxygen saturation test. Looks like I'll at least be on oxygen at night from now on. Insurance is screwy and it's costing me which I can't afford on my measly disability income. This is a situation that just has to be fixed. I love Bush but this insurance change is killing people like me - literally. I feel bad just complaining about it but it's not like I'm going to get better - just progressively worse. I'm definitely not alone in this. For those of you who do not know disabled or chronically ill people who rely on these programs to stay alive or have a place to live, I want you to think about that because it's only going to get worse. For the pharmacy and Medicaid to tell me to write my legislature doesn't help either. It's federal law now and I can't tell from Bush's speeches whether he realizes what a mistake these changes are... even though it just started on January 1st, something has got to give and I'm afraid that what is going to give won't be pretty. Get that? A lot to take in, I know.

Plus this is the worst time of year for me; I can't even get comfortable. My disabled roommate isn't doing very well either, so things are a bit dire around here. He'd rather work, even part time but no one will hire him. He lost his job of 15 years last October, so things are tight around here.

Please remember these kinds of things when you go out to vote. They're important to oh, so many people, not just the elderly.

I hope this helps explain why it is so hard for me to keep up BUT I'm not going to give up, either. Thank you for the opportunity to see all your sites.

This is my first try at doing the Bonfire of the Vanities. Although many of my posts have been part of the Bonfires, I promise not to be mean and instead look at the humor behind these entries. We all have our bad days and good days, our bad and good posts and these entries are supposed to fit into that category. These entries are also supposed to bring attention to the entry-guest, so check out the rest of the site while checking the Bonfire posts; some may surprise you. :-)

First entry put me in a spin. "Peace Moonbeam" is the author. Who calls themselves "Peace Moonbeam?" Anyway, the title is called Liberal Libations and she notes it's a stupid story that's poorly written. For me, I couldn't figure out which story it was there were so many urls, so I'm hoping it's this one. No title, just a URL.

Now this one just cracked me up! "Pick me please!" John Stansbury begs, "I need more hits!" He's not the only one. All he wants is this to be linked. Since it is about Ben Franklin, I just want to add he was famous for taking "air baths." John added a little ditty that I'm going to put here because I liked it. The question I have is what state "Seabrook" is in for if it's the one I know, it needs more than a Hooters.

It's bad enough that Republics don't always want to work with Denocrats and vice versa but no one is looking at it as a change and a change that could be better. No optimistic lookout and this is unfair because it was a democratically election and they need to work together to bring peace to their region of their world.

I see it as an opportunity; everyone else sees it as "NO, absolutely not!" position. Hamas doesn't have a chance from every angle and their last year truce with Israel should have proved they mean business and they are as much of the government as Fatah.

In a statement today, Israel has said they will not deal with the Palestinians if Hamas is part of their government.

Nothing like giving the new change a chance. If everyone is against them from the start, how is Hamas going to make a change?

In the last year alone, Hamas has committed to a truce with Israel and they have not done anything violent or suicide bombings or hurt to anyone in those two states - Israel and Palestine.

I believe Hamas should be given a chance for they are in a new place and should be given the benefit of the doubt. Right now, no one is giving them a chance so the road to peace could be in trouble.

Personally I think Hamas should be given a break. Instead of putting Hamas in the paliament and working with each together before judging them before a government can be addressed is not a good sign.

I hope someone smartens up and gives them a chance.

HOPKINGTON, MA., MURDERS

I'm watching "Dayside" on Fox at the moment and they are discussing the murders of the mother and baby from Hopkington, MA and why the husband, who is presently in England at this time, hasn't returned.

I would not call him "a person of interest." Most likely he killed his baby and his wife, drove to Logan Airport where he left his car and flew to England where he is still a citizen. So far, he is not returning. Gee, wonder why?? Anyway, there is no death sentence in England and England won't extradite if a sentence might end up being death. Does Massachusetts have the death sentence? If not, he should be here. My feeling is that he's not here because he killed them and if MA has the death penalty, he's not returning and probably can't be extradited back to MA.

Now this is just my opinion. Question is... if he did it, why?? (Husband is always first suspect, not person of interest.)

If you've been watching the news at all, you've probably heard about the accident in Florida yesterday with a truck, a bus and a minivan with 7 adopted children in it. The minivan full of children ages 15 to 21 months blew up and the kids were burned alive.

The mother's father, after hearing of the news had a fatal heart attack. As a mother myself and coming from a large Irish Catholic family whose seen it's share of sorrows, I can't even imagine how the parents, how this woman, could possibly function after such a horrendous loss. This is more than just tragic, it's mind-blowing. Her grief has to be tremendous.

I think I'm going to try to find out the name and town in Florida where this happened and send some flowers and a note. What else could I do? They'd definitely have to drug me up big time to get through this and the time afterwards. I sure hope she has a good support system for the next year because she's going to need it. Big Time.

I missed his speech today and only caught the very end. I didn't know he was going to give a press conference. But I did learn that Hamas won, democratically, the fact that they won the elections done yesterday.

As I said before, it will be a challenge to deal with them, but eventually it will have to be done. I noted it as Hope instead of Fear, so I think we have to give them a chance. We may not deal with terrorists but I think we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Hamas is now the Palestinian government.

He also covered many other issues as he did the other day when he spoke at Princeton. Now that was one hell of a great speech - one hour and 40 minutes - then had an Q&A session. I like the president the best when he's so relaxed but who's speech flowed naturally.

HISTORIC VOTING IN PALESTINE

For the first time in ten years, Parliamentary voting is taking place in the Palestinian areas including the terrorist group, Hamas. It seems weird to see a person walk in with guns, turn them over, go vote, then reclaim their guns on the way out.

Although there is no dealings with terrorists, to have Hamas go from "Lawbreakers" to "Lawmakers" in my mind may make a huge change in the Middle East Policies. Hamas refuses to change their charter but that, too, might change if they have a say in the lawmaking process of the Palestinians. At least I hope that's what will happen. Time will tell and Hope is better than Fear.

WINTER OLYMPICS

I just want to apologize for not keeping up to date my blog. It's winter and difficult for me to keep up, typing, and so on. I still watch the news 24/7 but I just don't always have the ability to sit down and type out the news and for that I'm really sorry. I hope you understand. Spending way too much time at the doctors, too. Last October, I did an oxygen saturation test and it turns out that I'm only receiving 79% oxygen at night. I should be on a converter immediately but they want to do another test and a sleep study in March. I do the O2 test on Tuesday night but I'm doing better using slim quick capsules and water pills giving me more room to breathe and to eat. I want to thank Jody for being so sweet.

WHAT A DAY I HAD YESTERDAY!

What a day I had yesterday. Just taking a shower, putting on makeup, doing my hair, getting dressed and all is incredibly painful as well as an exhausting. Me and my wheelchair saw a pulmonologist. I've got tests coming up and found out that the last overnight breathing test was only 79 = which means I should be on oxygen right now. So I have to redo that again and then a sleep study in March; that should be fun.

(Kidding.)

When I got home,I put the dog out but when I went to bring him in, he was stuck on fencing, so I had to go out and as I did, the steps were covered in ice and down I went. Ass over teakettle. I had my back brace on so that saved my spine for the most part but not my head which I cracked on the edge of one of the stairs. I'm paying for it now.....

MY BIO-BIDET TOILET SEAT FINALLY INSTALLED

For Christmas, I got a "bio-bidet" seat and it finally was installed yesterday.

Don't laugh! But when you can't turn at the waist like me, anything is helpful. I just wish the buttons were farther up so I could see them better and a slight adjustment has to be made to wash my fanny. This thing holds warm water and you can rinse off your butt and it you're a female, the front, too. It also has a hot air dryer.

The seat is really comfortable, too and that also can be heated so no more cold toilet seats. It's actually quite nice; it's figuring it out that's the only hard part. See, once you sit down, the buttons are down by your hip so you really can't see it. They make remote control ones too so might look into that as an alternative. Nothing like feeling clean. It also has a heater to dry you but that gets really hot, so it scares me a bit.

It's good for everyone but if you're disabled and have trouble in the bathroom, this seat is perfect. :-)

MY DOG STARES AT ME

I have this beautiful and rare toy white american eskimo dog who is about the smartest dog (person) that I know or have every had but he has this habit of sitting just within my reach and stares at me; it drives me nuts. Wish he could talk. He's been fed,so he's not hungry, he's been out so doesn't need a trip outside, we've played ball but that isn't it either. To most, it's hysterical.

Last night my roommate said " go stare at mommy" so he comes back to where I'm sitting, sits and stares. Argh!! He also follows directions. If I send him to his room, he goes down the hall to my roommates' room and stays there. Cracks my brother up because his kids aren't even that well behaved. But like I said, last night my roommate told him to go stare at me and he came over and did just that.

Talk about funny!! BUT it drives me batty!!!!!!

When I first started, I was given the opportunity to join mu.nu but I could not find anywhere how to do it - no directions, nada, nothing, so I gave up and stuck with blogger. With the help of Harvey of Bad Example, I did the best I could and so did he. I don't know how mu.nu works now and if there are directions on how to do one's site but I'm happy with blogger, so I have decided to stay.

Every week, I also got a listing of how many people visited my site and how often; I don't even get that anymore - have no idea why but maybe my blogdad Harvey can figure that out for me. I sure appreciate it and I appreciate his help more than he'll ever know.

Does anyone understand the ramblings of these senators and just how and what Judge Alito during these Justice Hearings are all about??? My goodness, can they go on and on and on and I have no idea what he's supposed to answer; nothing makes sense to me and I'm getting tired of listening to these idiots. They're giving me a migraine. The world is watching these proceedings which only shows to me how appalling these Senators are - not all of them but most of them and they are even fighting with one another. It's disgusting the way they are acting.

Judge Alito is not answering like John Roberts did but answering in legal jargon which seems to go over the heads and under the feet of most of the committee. I do not like Ariel Sharon and never have. If you go back in history, he was a warrier before he was 14 years ago. I do not believe what Pat Robertson said but I undersand why he said it. With the type of stroke Sharon had, he has no chance of survival, especially where the major bleeding was in the brain stem.

So how long are they going to artifically keep him alive? Let him go and let the middle east play itself out. Hopefully it will play itself out peacefully, especially now that Sharon is no longer in the picture.

Mean, I know, but I also know about this man and if he's out of the picture, peace is probably possible.

As for Hamas, I hope they do the best and for the best of the Palestinian people, who indeed need and want a peaceful life.

Terrorists kill almost 100 people yesterday and kidnappings are again on the rise. The Iraqi people must stand on their own two feet to stop this. The Iraqi people do not have standards of care to help all the wounded and like in Palestine, family members become the nurses to their loved ones. Some have no family members to care for them. They have no real doctors, no real nurses, no real hospitals that can adequately care for the wounded. Terrorists are killing women and children and others like there is no tomorrow.

People constantly ask when the army will be ready or when the policemen will be ready to take over; that's a bit hard to do when the terrorists continue to attack those who are waiting in line to sign up for the police academy or to become soldiers and THAT is why it is taking so long - people tend to forget that part of the equation. And it's a huge equation and major situation. It is not that they are slow, it's because they are continuing to be attacked by the terrorists. So how does one get ahead? Rule of Law does not apply to the terrorists so if they can continue to attack those two facets of Iraqi life and win, the Iraqi police and soldiers are going to lose as they have been losing. Pray it turns around and the terrorists get bombarded instead; it's the only way the Iraqi's will win against these horrible people.

MINER FIASCO

What happened in West Virgina at the Saco Mine is/was horrendous. How could they possibly let the families and other miners rejoice and ring the bells because they thought all the miners were okay and let them do it for three hours is beyond comprehension. They had to call the state troopers inn and send them to the Saga Church to speak to the minister there who had to break the bad news is just unforgiveable. For me it felt like someone stuck a knife in my heart so I can't imagine how horrendous it was for those folks when they found out the truth.

I know they were fixing the ventilation system as they were progressing into the shaft but I question why didn't they put on oxygen tanks and wear masks and go into the mine that way because if they had, those 12 miners would be alive today. It only makes sense, they could have fixed the ventilation system later rather than now. With the right equipment, they could have saved the 12 miners. So why didn't they do that???

UPDATE: It turns out that one of the miners kept a journal and in it, the miners lived 10 hours. If the rescue didn't take so long, instead of trying to rfix blasted out windows, put on oxygen tanks and masks, the 12 miners would still be alive today, sharing the oxygen and getting them out of the mine, they would have made it = all of them. Damn shame taking the easy way out and being too careful. They would have survived = all they needed was more oxygen than the 7 hour machine. What a damn shame.

The best medical care can be gotten in Israel where none can be gotten in the Palestina, no police service, no army, no protection for the Palestinian where if female members were around,they became the nurses and their lives were woefully behind in every way. A man of peace and courage is nothing but bullshit. His own party didn't want him so he kept starting his own party knowing he wouldn't want him so he made his own over and over.

STRESS

It's not just the holidays or my disabilities that have had me stressed out this year - hence not being able to post like I used to on other sites as well as my own.

Earlier in the year, my kidnapped son returned home and has been sleeping on my couch. It's the drugs, the drinking and the people he hangs around with and eventually moved out to live with for awhile that's got me nuts. NOW HE'S BAAAACK!!

Back on the couch, back to a mess in the living room, back to bitching about everything, back to no job, back to no respect, back to not helping out around the house, back to his mouth running amok and his language that is totally undesireable.

My roommate had him go to work with him for the first year and they've both been laid off, so he sits around, yakking and swearing, fighting and telling me stories of things that happened before and what's going on now. He still can't tell stories and most of the time, I have no idea what he's talking about. It's back to the disrespect and opinions and he's knowing more than me and not knowing the truth. It's back to drugs and drinking and irresponsibility and he expects to find a job on the computer instead of pounding the pavement.

New clothes were bought again; my car being used again which my roommate does not want him to use for it's an extra $800 a year to add him. And my roommate is not working either but has been working on the computer making a computer program that he intends to sell. It's a great program - it's a loan payment calculator and his availability to work on many programs and on computers himself preferably for small business.

And then there is my son whom I think believes a job will knock at the door. We're almost at bankruptcy and still he asks for money daily and thinks that after today, when he's supposed to register his truck that needs fixing, the car will be available to him. He does not remember the first 15 years of his life and literally drives me nuts. If I could do the things for him that I did for his brother who is ten years older and wants nothing to do with either of us, I would but I can't. I'm on disability and stretched pretty tight, but he doesn't seem to understand that. I think he believes that you can still go outside and pick a leaf and thus have funds. Money just does not grow on trees.

He doesn't help around the house and I can't do it from my bed or from my wheelchair but do you think he puts any effort into it even knowing those facts? He doesn't appreciate anything you do for him when you can do it for him and has no idea what hitting the pavement means to look for a job.

His life since age 15 has not been easy but that is still no excuse to tell your mother "Fu!! you!" no matter what I say or recommend. He has made it especially hard for me to be me and the firstbrokenangel I used to be. Sometimes I actually have to hide in my room just to get away from this stranger I raised and listen to stories I don't want to hear or the attitude, the language I have to listen to, when he doesn't seem to care what other people think, especially me.

Although he moved out of the place he was living because he could not pay the rent, there is still a lot of stuff there he needs to bring back home.

I've never been happy here in this house and hate it with a passion but with this extra burden, I wish I was invisible. His biological father who did this to him is totally useless and still puts me down to this day. My son yells at me, swears at me, and I know that if he had kids, would never allow them to get away with what he gets away with on a daily basis.

Now he's involved with a girl who's now in jail in Vermont and goes there every other Sunday. First question: Got any money? Hell I never went a day without working since I was twelve years old, sometimes two jobs just to raise my two boys. Yup, I have another one whom I haven't heard from in three years in Florida who's supposed to get married sometime in January. These kids got the best of everything and got it first. I don't know what their problem is and I really hate it when the younger one, turned 22 today, is even here.

I'm so stressed out I cannot think straight and I'm so broke it's ridiculous. My roommate may even have to file for bankruptcy, it's so bad around here. Being as skilled as he is and computer smart, he's come up with and EZ loan payment calculator and is working on a pocket PC model; now needs help to sell this. My roommate is brilliant but there is no income coming into this house and my son still thinks money grows on trees. As a programmer, he's top-notch, just needs a way to sell his software.

On the other hand, I cannot tolerate my son who thinks he knows everything but sure has forgotten a lot and likes to party every night. He moved back from the beach but is there almost every night - so why did he even leave? When I see the couch empty, I'm relieved. He is a living bitch when he wakes up with a wicked attitude and if he keeps drinking the way he does, the doctor told him he's going to die. I made the mistake of taking him to the ER one day after a particular binge when they had to replace his electrolytes but was such an ass, they also had to knock him out.

I'm at a loss as to what to do or say anymore and I don't want to see him living in the streets either. So I haven't quite been myself for some time now and if I could, I'd move out; I just can't take it anymore.

The President will hold a press conference this morning at 10:45 with reporters. He is speaking now, concerned about the Patriot Act and terrorists are in our country. There will a Q and A after his speech. He is pushing the Patriotic Act and is covering what has been going on in this country over the past three years.

The American hostage, Ron Schultz(?), has been killed by his kidnappers.

The German anthropologist and her driver were released yesterday.

I still love the THANK YOU COMMERCIAL from the Kurds.

HISTORIC DEMOCRATIC VOTING IN IRAQ

Today, a historic democratic voting took place in Iraq without incident and lots of excitement, hope and future for the Iraqi people.

My favorite was how many women also turned out, helped out and how each voter was so proud to ink their fingers. So thrilling. Voter turnout was high and they are keeping voting places open an hour longer due to the long lines of people waiting to get in and vote. One place had to get more ballots the turnout was so high. The Iraqi's were very enthusiatic about getting out to vote and in some places, it became a family affair with women bringing their children with them.

Even the reporters were excited and upbeat at the turnout.

Amazing

A total success!!!

PS Told you they'd hardly be no violence and except for a couple things, violence was quiet today.

WICKED COLD WEATHER

It is 6.8 degrees outside right now. egads........ no wonder I hurt so much. TOO MUCH!!!! Too damn cold to live.

GAS LINE EXPLOSION

There were exactly two gas line exposions yesterday: on in Pennsysvania during the middle of the night then also yesterday there was an explosion at an apartment explosion in NJ in which 2 died and 3 critically wounded.

The fire chief was on hand after the gas line was broken but did not evacuate the people in that complex but as soon as the heat went on, the building exploded. Three critically wounded. Lots or people will be losing their jobs over this including the Fire Chief.

TOOKIE WILLIAMS EXECUTED

Tookie Williams was executed yesterday morning after 25 years on Death Row. They had some difficulty finding a backup vein but when they did, he died in 13 minutes.

I hope he rots in hell.
