A LITTLE ABOUT ME

  • A LITTLE ABOUT ME FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW ME
  • I was born early, weighed 3 lbs, 6 ozs and contracted polio while in the hospital. At age 2, I had rheumatic fever and that was my beginning.
  • In Grade 4, I was dxd with rheumatoid arthritis
  • i'm an artist at heart
  • I can't be anything I'd like to be anymore.
  • I'm mosty bedbound and have one super duper wheelchair which I can't use around the house because it's like a bomb went on in here and men are not willing to clean.
  • I have a horrendous disease called CFIDS/FMS for fibromalagia, post polio, and the energy of of a snail. I also have severe osteoarthritis, osteoporis, 0steostenosis, allergies, ashma, some paralysis of my breathing. They found I had severe scoliosis during the summer between the sixth and 7th grade and spent Every saturday till I graduated from high school at Childrens Hospital in Boston. It is really damaged. Recently they have had to come up with a new name for my spine. In searching the best New England has to offer, basically I was told "to go to church." Wish I was quick enough to high kick him in the balls.
  • My spinal cord in the lumbar region in about the size of those pencils leads you buy for those fancy pen and pencil sets. They way things are going, I don't think it will be long before my spinal cord is completely severed.
  • I also suffer from parasomnias. Although my IQ level was in the 180's, I'm about a 145 now - very depressing for me. My roommates say that it's like playing password with me when we talk because not only can I not retain info, I can't always find the words I want to use.
  • I enjoy blogging and commenting and it's helped a lot. I was quite active that way throughout the presidential primary and inauguration.
  • I have made some blogs extremely popular by sending them info I would find and there's one in particular who got so popular due to his sources (me)
  • When I was 24 going on 25, my husband, age 30, who was a Captain in the Green Berets, Special Forces and an Advisor in Vietnam for 4 years, died as a result of a motorcyle accident 7 days after the fact because at that time there were things known as "transplant teams." Today it's done automatically.
  • Because of my illness I cannot donate blood or give away my organs. Back in 1978, it was only eyes and kidneys. Too bad really, my husband had a strong heart.
  • I spent 6 years as a candy striper and here on the internet, have counseled many a people over the past 20 years in dealing with their disabilities.
  • My Dad was a fireman for 45 years and an EMT. He actually brought that learning here to New England. We take it for granted now like it's always been there but that is not the case. He started it here and I am very proud of him for his dedication to all those he helped; he's my hero.
  • Five years ago, at a class reunion, I ran into a neighbor of mine that used to tease me all the time (12 years plus). We got engaged and he decided to have surgery on the blood clots in his legs. The idiots at the hospital poured IV Heparin into his system for 3 days. He was having TIA's and the clots were getting broken up into small enough pieces to get through the screens. So two days after I brought him home from the hospital, he got up at 4:25 am to go to the bathroom. It was only two steps from the bed, shut the door, turned on the light and down he went. Dead in that second. His pulmonary artery burst and nada could be done for him. But I'm not giving up on love....
  • Both my parents are dead, so I feel like an orphan.
  • Up until about 4 years ago, I was still very active and only had brain farts once in awhile. Then I was in a car accident. I hit one of the infamous NH rock walls and everything from the nose down got broken in some way. But they checked me out and sent me home by taxi. doh... I even totalled my wheelchair that was on a lift in the back of the van. Now I have a new one and just got one of those outside ramps that you see on the back of cars. It saves me energy and I'll be able to do more. Get out once in awhile. Shop!! Maybe...
  • I had two names for my website, "bedbound newshound" or something that included pajamas but that would take away from "editors in pajamas."
  • I'm an old mIRC person so making a blog is quite the challenge.
  • Pain is my friend; is is never ending.
  • We all have our monkeys on our backs.
  • Thank you for your nice words - be patient with me, I'm going to do this one way or another and then hopefully when I get past the hard stuff, the rest will be gravy. Thanks again.
  • I'm probably better off staying the "ghost" I have been for the last two years.
  • When I was 35, knowing I was sick but not knowing what would happen, so finished 4 Associates Degrees in two years while working, paying child support to my neighbor for babysitting my youngest, who was 3-4 years old. My first desk was my picnic table.
